The competition is open to all students enrolled in recognized primary and secondary schools in Rivers State. Participants must be either indigenes of Rivers State or legally residing students attending school within the state. Students must register in the category that corresponds to their current academic level: Lower Primary (P1–P3), Upper Primary (P4–P6), Junior Secondary (JSS1–JSS3), or Senior Secondary (SS1–SS3).

There are two methods of registration:School-Based Registration: Students obtain forms from their school, which submits completed forms to the Rivers Educational Network. Payment can be made in bulk by the school.

. Registration requires personal information, school details, a passport photograph, and proof of payment.
